Pause daily reminders on one invoice

A customer who promised to mail a check should not keep getting the same automated nudge.

Why we built it

Configurable billing emails and reminders set the team cadence for payment due and follow-ups. Sometimes one invoice needs an exception—the owner called, you are waiting on a wire, or a draft is waiting on a payment-method choice. On the invoice detail page, Daily reminders is a per-invoice switch: turn it off to pause automatic reminder emails for that invoice only. Manual actions such as Remind customer or Resend invoice email still work when staff choose to send. The pause is stored on the Stripe invoice metadata so cron and payment-preference jobs respect it.

Who it is for

• Billing staff managing exceptions without changing Settings → Billing for the whole facility.
• Teams with drafts waiting for customer payment selection who need quiet days while the customer decides.
• Anyone handling open send_invoice bills where the customer already arranged payment offline.

What you can do

• Open an open or eligible draft invoice and find Daily reminders on the detail page.
• Switch Daily reminders off to pause automatic emails for that invoice; turn it back on when collections should resume.
• Send a one-off reminder from Actions whenever you want—the pause blocks scheduled automation, not staff-initiated email.
• Leave team reminder intervals unchanged—other invoices keep following your global billing notification rules.

How it fits your day

Customer says they will pay Friday—pause daily reminders on that invoice, note the call on the contact record, and resume the switch after payment posts. For payment-preference drafts, the same control appears while you wait; the page calls out that manual reminders still send when you use Remind customer.
